Attention Deficit Disorder and Hyperactivity (ADD/ADHD) ADHD is a disorder that is marked by periods of inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity. Children and adults with this disorder show signs of being restless, easily distracted, impulsive and impatient. The various types of ADHD include:
Boys are three times more likely than girls to have symptoms of ADHD. Most symptoms of ADHD decrease with age, but symptoms of associated features and related disorders may increase with age. Treatment can consist of either psychotherapy or pharmacotherapy.
